My Industrial Training @ Sime Darby Plantation

On 19th April 2010, my Industrial Training day has begun. My IT will end this coming 2nd July 2010. I've did my IT in one of the biggest government link company in Malaysia, Sime Darby. I was really grateful to have such opportunity with Sime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd, one of the biggest sub division of this company besides Energy & Utilities, Motors, Industrial, Property and Healthcare. The HQ of Sime Darby Plantation is located in Subang Jaya, besides Subang Parade. In SD Plantation, I did my IT in the Engineering Department, 8th Floor,Wisma Consplant. Mr Azizi Abd Rahman is the Head of Engineering Department. There are several division in the department, Upstream, Downstream, Contract & Vendor, Energy & Utility and also Strategy & Business Development. I was allocated in the Downstream division. The Head of Downstream Engineering is Mr. Sulaiman Hamid. He was assisted with my IT supervisors, Mr Izaimi Ismail and Mr Ajaimi Shah Shahruddin. Basically, Downstream Engineering usually deals with the production of edible oil, biodiesel as well as food processing industries. Downstream Engineering also involves in several refineries projects both local and oversea. Some of the local projects includes Austral Edible Oil Sdn Bhd in Bintulu,Sarawak, Golden Jomalina Sdn Bhd in Teluk Panglima Garang, Selangor, Nuri North Port in Klang, Selangor and Sime Darby Biodiesel Sdn Bhd in Carey Island, Selangor. The overseas projects includes RIZHAO in China and Unimills in Rotterdam, Netherlands. During my IT, most of my activities focused on the administrative and consultancy works for Downstream Projects. These includes attending meeting with vendors, site visit and writing evaluation report for Procurement.
